Become a Pilates Instructor at the Dunedin Pilates Studio with the Pilates Academy International!

To become a Pilates instructor, you need dedication, knowledge of the body and a desire to help others, so choose the right Pilates Instructor Training to be the best Pilates instructor you can be. At the Pilates Academy International at Dunedin Pilates Studio, we believe that Pilates Instructor Training begins with a strong foundation in anatomy and biomechanics. That’s why the Pilates teachers we produce are capable of designing fitness training programs for all ages, lifestyles, and fitness levels. Our intensive Pilates courses are designed for potential instructors who are already certified personal trainers, Pilates enthusiasts who want to take their fitness training to the next level, or dancers or athletes using Pilates Instructor Training to become a Pilates instructor as a career transition.

To date, the Pilates Academy International has trained Pilates instructors across the globe who are sought after for their firm base of knowledge and high quality Pilates instruction they are able to deliver after successful completion of their Pilates Instructor Training. PAI Pilates Instructors are competent, confident and well-equipped to teach Pilates and develop fitness training routines for all populations.

Whether you are a certified personal trainer or have already attained your Pilates Instructor Training, you can easily augment your fitness training with Pilates workshops for Instructors created by the Pilates Academy International. Our Pilates workshops feature Pilates instruction not only with new mat Pilates exercises, but also Pilates instruction on the Pilates Exercise Ball, BOSU, Pilates Foam Roller, Pilates Exercise Band and more. It’s easy for Pilates enthusiasts to begin to become a Pilates instructor or current Pilates instructors to complete continuing education credits to maintain Pilates Instructor Training qualification with the wide variety of workshops that PAI offers.

The Pilates Academy International believes a great Pilates instructor must have three essential skills: a solid understanding of anatomy, biomechanics and postural issues; a strong command of the exercise repertoire – including modifications for all levels of fitness; and the ability to inspire and motivate clients. Any one or two skills alone fail to provide the client with the best instruction they could receive and prevent the client from reaping all the benefits Pilates has to offer.

At The Pilates Academy International, our goal is the PROCESS of attaining a more balanced, optimally functioning body, not an obsession with a result. While emphasizing the proper execution of the Pilates repertoire (click here to visit Katherine and Kimberly’s Ultimate Pilates Workouts at www.ultimatepilatesworkouts.com), we teach our students to focus on the unique needs of each individual client. As each client has a different life history, different movement habits and different limitations, he/she may not ever be able to achieve the “proper execution” of an exercise. Thus, our program not only teaches students to analyze and assess a variety of conditions – from the simple to the complex – quickly, but also provides these students with a variety of modifications to traditional Pilates exercises. The modifications preserve the intended goal of the exercises, yet make them accessible to all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As clients embark on their journeys to discover healthier movement patterns and find more freedom in their bodies, our students are prepared to help them enjoy meeting their unique fitness goals with Pilates.

Testimonials

After years of reaping the benefits of practicing Pilates, I was interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the principles behind the exercises, and wanted to be able to share that knowledge with my fellow dancers. The Anatomy/Biomechanics and All Populations Mat courses at PAI provided me with the insight I was looking for. I found PAI’s curriculum challenging and informative, and the balanced, intelligent approach to the mat work made sense to me as a dancer. Now I have the skills necessary to provide my future clients with a program enabling them to develop an evenly-conditioned, strong, flexible body in a safe and healthy manner.
